I am personally a huge fan of the SteamDeck, I try to get to know anything there’s to know about the thing, and I was surprised that they announced an OLED model, with larger, brighter and higher refresh rate screen and updated internals.
I spend a good chunk of my headspace reflecting on wether this is worth upgrading or not, and my tl;dr is that it is not worth it if you already have a SteamDeck LCD, but it is a good update no doubt. So if you’re as passionate as I am about the thing, you’ll likely be getting one.
This product has a strong and passionate community around it, companies that make a variety of nice accessories and has been on top of it’s competitors since release.
There’s nothing bad with your SteamDeck, keep it!
I did the full shell swap to a transparent purple one, swapped the SSD with a 2TB o e and even replaced a damaged screen for a new one. My SteamDeck LCD is as good looking as I could possibly wish for. I am definitely keeping it regardless of getting a new one.

My modded Switch OLED is worth around $600 on Brazil, and it would be just enough for me to get a SteamDeck OLED, so I might as well do this trade, specially since I also have a Nintendo Switch V1 ( Which is LCD but I honestly only play docked )
